Cycle-CNY is seeking people who are passionate about mountain biking in the Southern Tier to join its Board of Directors. Cycle-CNY is a chapter of the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) with a mission to create, enhance and preserve great trail experiences for mountain bikers in the Southern Tier of New York.
Board Members take leadership roles that include planning and hosting of events, advocating for sustainable trails open to mountain bikes, hosting group mountain bike rides and skills clinics, and planning our outstanding local mountain bike festival. This is a great opportunity to support our region’s mountain bike community and meet local riders.
Cycle-CNY operates within the counties of Broome, Schuyler, Tompkins, Cortland, Chemung and Tioga and includes the cities of Ithaca, Binghamton, Cortland, and Elmira. Board members must be members of Cycle-CNY / IMBA and reside within the Cycle-CNY defined region. Board member terms are for two years and are renewable for up to three terms. Board Members are expected to attend at least four meetings annually (both virtual and in-person) and provide leadership in at least one formal committee (event planning, trail advocacy, group ride organization, skills clinics, etc.).
